Motivation is Overated

Take this story for example. In January, a gym is completely packed because everyone there is making resolutions to lose weight and get fit, because everyone is motivated to do that. Two weeks later, what happens to the gym? It’s getting back to normal.

Like any other emotions, motivation is temporary. It’s great to get you pumped and started the change, however you will not feel motivated every single day.

Here’s how to get things done without relying on motivation.

Humans are habitual creatures. We find comfort in habit, our brain is wired that way. I’ve always been using my motivation only when needed, and build habit instead. Habit requires less thinking and feeling, and it gets things done in the long terms.

Simply know that you have the power to create new habits, destroy old habits, reinvent yourself and stay persistent, then results will come as your journeys progress.
