Why I Moved All of My Domain Names to Google Domains

Less than 2 months ago, Google announced a beta service called Google Domains. I was offered to join Google Domains beta today. The current beta is for U.S only. Here are a few things I really like about Google Domains:

  • $12/year that includes everything below. I like this idea because it helps customer release the headache of going through all the up selling and hidden pricing when going through other registrars.
  • Free Private Registration: When you purchase or transfer a domain name, private registration is almost always an option (some domain endings do not support this feature). If private registration is selected, we cover the cost of keeping your details private (e.g. your name, address and other contact information). I would trust Google Domains private registration more than GoDaddy’s DomainsByProxy service. This is something that’s often cost as much as the domain registration fee itself.
  • Google DNS Servers:
  • Branded Email Address: 100 free email addresses. This type of add-on is usually expensive if you use other registrars, Google make it cheap. So enjoy!

I hope Google would add more domain extensions into its service. If you want to request an invitation for Google Domains here.
